Christmas Traditions

With Christmas only a few days away, we were reminiscing at Aria Rose on our favorite holiday traditions, some big, some small. Some traditions we shared in common and others seemed like a great idea to start.

HERE ARE OUR FAVORITE TRADITIONS:

Lauren: Owner

My favorite Christmas tradition is honestly just being with my family and being "clocked out" from work. I love watching Elf with my parents on either Christmas Eve once everyone leaves or on Christmas Day. My mom always brings home tamales, too, which are so delicious! Now that I have a niece and a nephew, I love having them over to open the presents that Santa brought them. Oh, and my mom and I ALWAYS watch Hallmark movies during Christmas (sorry, dad).

I always enjoy having a late dinner and staying up until midnight on Christmas Eve and gathering around the tree to celebrate Christmas.

My favorite holiday tradition growing up was baking sugar cookies with my family and friends. We had this tradition since as long as I can remember. My mom always let me invite friends over to also take part in the baking, decorating and of course eating. We always had so much fun. I looked forward to it every holiday season.

My Christmas tradition has always been eating the Noche Buena leftovers and then taking a family drive around the city. This year Christmas will look a bit different since I'll be spending it in my country, the Dominican Republic.

Every Christmas Eve my family and I sit around the tv and watch a Christmas movie right at midnight. My favorite Christmas movie is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. This is a tradition we have done forever and I NEVER want it to end.

The week leading up to Christmas my family and I do a gingerbread house decorating competition. It gets pretty intense! Then on Noche Buena we stay up till midnight to open gifts.

I love waking up super early to open up gifts with my family. After that, we go back to sleep. Once we all wake up, we make a delicious Christmas brunch.
